Graduation Dress Guide

What's up party people? I am here today to help inform the masses on yup, you guessed it, on graduation dresses, whether you are attending one or you are actually the one graduating. With this graduation season approaching us, and while actually graduating myself, I have been bombarded with all the usual graduation things like caps, gowns, announcements, invitations, and parties, but within all this hustle and bustle I have only now thought of my graduation dress! This is obviously the most fun part... besides the graduating of course.

I have picked a handful of dresses that I will work perfectly for those who are graduating from anywhere and anything, or for those who are attending. Like my last guide all of the dresses will be linked for the easiest of shopping experiences!

Let's start with our florals. If you are attending a spring graduation or really any special occasion you will be seeing a ton of floral prints. I was just perusing the last few day and here are few of my favs that I think are so cute and will work really well.

1. Asos is a great place to shop because they literally have everything. All sizes and things if you're petite or tall, they rock. I think this dress might be my personal favorite from this group. It is very Samantha Jones to me (I'm sorry I've just finished watching the Sex and the City series.) Anyways, I love this dress because I think the length is so flattering for any height. The cut of the dress is also so pretty and feminine.

2. If we are going to continue with the Sex and the City theme this is a total Carrie dress. I think the key with a good graduation dress is to be formal, but not too formal and mix in a fun print, fabric, or silhouette. The silhouette of this dress is what really gets me. It has those trendy, thin straps along with the diagonal cut of the hem. Misguided is great because they have such affordable things! Highly recommend!

3. This final floral dress is a simple fit and flare with a darker floral print. It is a steal because it's only $26! This dress will work well because it is a little more casual because of the aline silhouette, thin strap and the length.

These next dresses are your more casual but still appropriate for graduation. These dresses are a little more plain and simple, but still so cute (and you can wear them all summer long!)

1. A LBD is never a bad option. This one from Windsor has a very VERY simple silhouette. This is your everyday black body con with a high neck.

2. I am a big fan of this hot pink look! It screams spring and could be dressed down with a pair of white platform sneakers and a cute denim jacket.

3. Red is such a stand out dress and this one from Misguided you can defiantly wear again AND dress up or down!

4. I wore a very similar style of dress to my high school graduation. GO MOUNTAIN LIONS!

5. I couldn't get this link to work but Lulus has an actual section for graduation dresses and they are very affordable!

6. NOW IF THIS ISN'T A FABULOUS LBD THAN I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS. This is a great dress because of the longer length and then we are hit with that cheeky little slit! This dress is from Revolve which can be a pretty penny, but if you can afford a $400 LBD then you are a true baller and FASFA is treating you well!

ALRIGHT BRING IN THE NEXT GROUP!

So as I was looking around on Pinterest and other websites white is a main color to wear. Why? I can't tell you...(looks soooooo good with a tan!) But I can show you some hot fire flame dresses and some of these are my personal favorites.

1. This dress from tobi.com is one of my favorite dresses I have found. I know that it looks blush pink but it says ivory so I am lumping it in with the whites. I love the sleeves and lace neck. This dress is also super affordable!

2.Just like number 1, I cannot get enough of the lace. I think the sleeves and neck are the main focal point of the dress and is so great for a day like graduation.

3. I like to call this bohemian glam. This reminds me of something that Serena Van Der Woodsen would wear. I think the looser fit is cute and more laid back and the flared sleeves give it interest. Lastly, it is a little sexy with the plunging neck. What more could you want?

4. 4 is very similar to 2, but a little less dramatic and a little more collegiate! Very Blair Waldorf!

5. This one is very Real Housewives of fill in the blank but nonetheless a great piece to have and wear.

Moving on from the obvious dresses, I thought that some fun jumpsuits and maxi dresses would be perfect to incorporate.

1. This strapless culotte-esque jumpsuit is from Urban Outfitters and is so cute and springy. I have been loving all shades of yellow and I love the culotte style look.

2.This one is also from Urban Outfitters and I would say it is a little more formal. Anything flowy I adore because of how effortless it makes you look and they are always way more comfortable than a form fitting ensemble.

3. OKAY ANOTHER URBAN FIND! I actually had a jumpsuit pretty similar to this with the beautiful wide legs and a silky luxurious fabric. Mine was a light blue but unfortunately was ruined in an intentional bleaching accident (tragic, I know!) This one is very pretty and I love the blush champagne color!

4. This dress is a little more casual because of the top of the dress but it has a very spring and flirty fit that is perfect if you need something a little more budget friendly and perfect if you don't want to look too fancy.

5. Lastly is this gorgeous dress which is also form Lulus. I love love love this print! It has a great little ruffle detail with a slit in the front. The skinny straps add that elegance and femininity (and very on trend).

Now moving on to our last group! These dresses I loved but they didn't really fit into a specific category. They are a little different than your average dresses and not something that you would really pick for graduation... maybe, but I thought I should throw them in for my out of the box girls.

1. This dress immediately caught my eye. This dress is from Windsor and I love the etherial but chic look this has. The thin sheer panel in the middle is a little sexy while the cute of the dress adds that sophisticated and put together look. The fabric also is so pretty and I love that it looks.

2. This dress is probably the most "WHAT?" dress because it kinda resembles something tinker belle would wear if she was in high school in 2001 going to a dance you know what I mean? BUT I think its cute! Love a good high neck with a little chest action and the color is so pretty!

3. This one is weird because of the cute like what is happening here BUT that's exactly what I love about it! It has these little ruffles of extra fabric on the hips and a little neck thing... (scarf?) I'm not sure but I think it would be perfect for someone who is a little adventurous with their style. It reminds me a lot of something Blair would wear and it is definitely at a Waldorf price.

4. NOW IF THIS DRESS DOEN'T GIVE YOU MONICA GELLER VIBES THAN YOU"RE WRONG!!! This is such a funky find! I love the floral pattern on this and the silhouette is so flattering for pretty much any body type because is accentuates the natural shape of the body.

If you got this far, thanks for reading! All of these dresses will work, but they are not exactly what you have to wear. Just use this as some inspiration. These are some of my favorite posts to write because I love to shop obviously.

Thanks again for reading!

XO,

Ry
