New Place, New Perspective
Hi hi! Wow... another blog post? Consistency? Who is she? Remember in my last post when I told you I was approved for the dreamiest condo? Well I decided to take the plunge, and sign the damn lease. I wanted to keep my options open to consider all aspects like price, space, convenience and you know, nothing could compare. I signed the lease a couple weeks ago, and I will be getting the keys on the 12th which I could not be more excited about. I'm more than ready to get out of my current place. Once I'm somewhere for too long and I'm ready to move on it feels so dirty like no matter how much I clean it's still dirty. My place now is an absolute trash hole with boxes and bags every where you turn. I just keep telling myself "two more days and it's over."
I think it might be slightly smaller than my current place but that's okay, it just makes it cozier... and some how the rooms are bigger so it's a win win I guess. I am not the only one living in the cozy condo. My boyfriend will there as well. I was able to take control of my last apartment despite having roommates who had somewhat of a say, but OB is VERY opinionated all of a sudden about our decor so the decorating process might be somewhat of a challenge. I'm thinking mid-century modern with some touches of boho chic, but OB is thinking more of early 2000 abc family living room vibes. You know, very matchy matchy.
The living room and kitchen are the most important spaces to me because that's where I spend the most time. I want them to be really chic, but still comfortable and lived in. I'm not the biggest fan of the tile on the fire place in the living room but that's something I will just have to get over.
The kitchen is smaller than where we live now, but so much cuter and updated. It will be a little bit of an adjustment to figure out the best way to organize the space, and maximize what we have, but my virgo in Mercury lives for this shit so I'm pretty pumped to get in there and buy all the organizing things. GOD I MISS THE CONTAINER STORE!
Moving on to my room and bathroom. To be completely honest I'm pretty lost. I'm not certain what I want to do with the space. For our room I have a general idea of a desert chic vibe, so warm tones with white and creams and a lot of wood. That's the goal for now but who even knows if OB will even like it. The bathroom is beautiful. The nicest bathroom I've had since I've been living on my own (peep the Kim and Kanye sinks.) The condo was recently renovated and the owners did a great job picking out the appliances and finishes. There isn't a ton to do in the bathroom but I still want there to be a cohesive look between the bathroom and bedroom, but not too "I'm the matching bathroom." You know what I mean?
I'm planning on doing an entire series on my YouTube channel about the move in process so get ready for the empty tour and the decorating videos. I'm very exited for a fresh space and all the exciting things it can offer! Let me know if you have any thoughts or ideas on the space. I would love to hear them.
